Zion National Park Special Permits

Commercial Use Authorization Permits
The Permit is for businesses (incidental) when there are no fixed commercial facilities within a national park area, the commercial activity originates and terminates outside the park, no money changes hands on park lands and no commercial solicitation occurs on park lands.

There are 5 types of permits:
*Bicycle Tours
*Interpretive Hike with groups of 15 or less people
*Interpretive Hike with groups of 16 to 50 people
*Photography and Painting Workshops
*Taxi and Recreational Shuttle

The fee structure for Commercial Use Authorization Permits is:
Permit fee for the calendar year – $250.00
Entrance fees are not included.

Special Use Permits:
One time permits for Weddings, Special Events and Filming.

There are 3 types of Special Use Permits:
*Filming of Zion National Park
*Special events inside the park
*Wedding parties inside the park

The fee structure for Special Use Permits is:
*Filming Permit – $150.00
*Wedding Permit – $100.00
*Special Event – Fees Vary
*Entrance fees are not included.

Backcountry Permits:
Permits are required for overnight trips in the backcountry (including climbing/bivouacs), through hikes of the Virgin River tributaries, and canyons requiring the use of desending gear or ropes (including the Subway). Permits are available the day before or the day of the trip. Permits are available at the Zion Canyon and Kolob Canyons Visitor Centers.
